Jornadas de Movilidad Erasmus+ de Educación Superior. 35 años Erasmus+

A few weeks ago, we were able to participate in the Jornadas de Movilidad Erasmus+ de Educación Superior.

We are very grateful, because each year, we get to know more about the Erasmus+ Programme and we also get answers to the questions that have arised on the previous school year.

I was also a grate experience to be able to share and listen to colleagues of other centres around Spain share their experiences.

We welcome Andrea

This year we welcome our new assistant Andrea. She comes from The States and will be in our classes every Thursday, motivating us to speak English and learn about other cultures. Thank you for all your help!!

Hello, I am Andrea. I am 25 years old. I was born in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. My family is from Barranquilla, Colombia. I studied at Georgia State University. My major was Linguistics and my minor was in Psychology. I graduated in 2019 and moved to Madrid a few months after. I have been in Madrid for 3 years now and I absolutely love it. I have traveled all around Spain and Madrid is still my favorite city. I love to explore new cities, try new foods and hang out with friends. I love listening to music and going to concerts. I love Atlanta rap, reggaeton, pop, house and techno. I love binge watching shows on netflix and always love having something new to watch.

My goal for this year is to have engaging classes and help students feel more confident having conversations in English. I hope I can help students be successful in their future careers!

Here is what Marina has to say:

"My experience in this Erasmus has completely exceeded my expectations. It is a unique experience, where I am growing as a person and in the field of my knowledge. I am improving my English and in the company I am learning in a pragmatic way to translate everything I have learned at school. In addition, we are traveling a lot and meeting wonderful people, I have made many new friends with whom I am sharing incredible and unique experiences."

Are you breaking up? #CleanSeas

It is not new that young people are worried about environment: this is a video one of our students played for the class as an example of a communication campaign. It was launched by the United Nations and it is called Break-Up: "It's not me, it's you."  #CleanSeas

We are posting it on the English Corner to help us think about our everyday actions. Is there anything we can change to make a more sustainable world? Will you break-up? What is your next step for breaking up?

ERASMUS in Tallinn, Estonia

David has already been in Estonia for a month, and even though it is already Spring, it seems that he Stills quite some more Snow to experience during has traineeship in Tallinn.

Here you have some of has thoughts:

ERASMUS in Dublin, Ireland

Valentina and Wendy are enjoying their time in Dublin while doing their work traineeship. They have been lucky and the arrived in Ireland Just in time to be able to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day with the Irish and following their traditions.

Here you have some of the reflections that Wendy and Valentina have done:

"I've been here a month now and I think I'm used to the city, the transport and the people.

Fun fact: there are a lot of people who speak Spanish in the city whether they are from Spain or South America. In general, shops close quite early, with the exception of supermarkets (some) and bars. The weather is crazy but I'm used to it. They love to ride bikes everywhere. The city is really beautiful and whenever I'm walking I find something new to see.”

"I have visited the Cliffs of Moher and also Galway, a small coastal town in the west of Ireland. It has been an interesting experience."

During the last few days we have been revising and signing the Grant Agreements of our 2021-2022 Erasmus students.

We aire very happy to resume these mobilities after two long years of pandemia, and even though we still have to be careful, we are very excited at the Escuela Profesional Javeriana since our students are able to have and enjoy such a wonderful experience thanks to the Erasmus+ Programme.
