A new flag for Madrid

In the Escuela Profesional Javeriana we decided to redesign the Flag of the City of Madrid with our assistant Claire Magee. We followed the following steps:

1. We wached the video by Roman Mars on TED Talks to find out about the rules of flag design

    2. Following the 5 principles of flag design, each group of students worked on three different possibilities

    3. They chose the best one to present to the class and explained the symbolism of the design and colours.

    4. Each class voted the best design to show on the English Corner

Coming soon the winning flag designs for the City of Madrid...

    Living in London

Our International Trade graduate Nadia Tachfine is now living in London. Do you want to find out about her experience there?

"If you still don't have a clear idea of what to do when you finish your degree you could definitely consider the possibility of coming to London!! It's a city full of opportunities for young people.

When I finished my studies in International Trade in the Escuela Profesional Javeriana I felt scared to move to London, but I always ended up thinking  that if I didn't like it I always could go back to Spain with a better level of English, so I’d lose nothing!

It is true that London is full of Spanish people and this makes it harder to learn English, but you can always socialize with people from other countries and practice with them as London is a multicultural city.

Something interesting is that you can easily continue your studies at university with your diploma of Técnico Superior in Vocational Training. Our diploma is considered here in UK an HND and you can top up to the second year or even the last year depending on how the universities that you are going to apply consider your application.

It's a great experience and as I said guys you will lose nothing!

    Fundación Montemadrid Internships in Ireland.

Last summer two of our students gained a Fundación Montemadrid Internship in Ireland. Do you want to find out about it?
    Ready to participate this year?

"Hello everyone my name is Miguel and I´m studying Administration and Finance.   I´m  here to talk about the internship that I did this summer, more exactly two months in Dublin with and other 29 students from different fields of vocational training.

In this internship I improved my English but also I gained some working experience. With this internship you can visit Ireland and also work in a company in Dublin.

Every weekend you have free time to stay with your host family or you can visit some famous places like Cliffs of Moher, Giants Causeway…

I was staying with the Vickers, and incredible and lovely family, with particularly manners: they showed me some Gaelic words and the real Irish food.

In my stage I was working in the Administration office in an English academy school “Ned Training Centre”. I was working with people from different countries like Poland, India, and USA... was and amazing experience too.

I really recommend you to apply because you can make friends from every country and also you will have incredible adventures so don’t hesitate and try to go Ireland with this opportunity.

If you have any question or you want to know more about this experience contact with me ;)
